Fine Art Photography
by Eddy Van Gestel

Internationally recognized photographer, Eddy Van Gestel lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium and Lamu, Kenya. Eddy’s love of photography started at the young age of 9 years old when he received his first analog camera from his grandfather. Van Gestel’s work is inspired by his fascination and respect for African culture, which began with stories told by his uncle, a missionary of Africa. Over the years his style has become more serene and restrained, stripped of any excess, complex perspectives and difficult angles. Van Gestel’s striking images draw their graphic strength through simplicity. He is on a quest to capture the magical and mysterious beauty, elegance and energy that connects the people and landscapes of Africa.

Each large format photograph is printed on Barrit paper, covered with silicone and pressed onto plexi glass, a process used by the most prestigious museums around the world including the Guggenheim and the Louvre. This combination avoids infiltration of air and guarantees 100% UV protection to ensure the vivid colors will last forever. Each print has a limited run of 12 prints worldwide.
